Wafer-style butterfly valves have four holes that line up with the connected pipeline. The valve is intended to clamp between two pipe flanges. The majority of wafer butterfly valves are compatible with the majority of flange standards. The rubber or EPDM valve seat forms a very strong seal between the valve and the flange connection.
